We bought the smaller model of the mosquito magnet. We installed it out by our pool somewhat in the woods. There is a running stream in the spring and in the summer it stays wet, but not running, the mosquitos used to be unbearable by 8:00 pm. Now we are able to stay out and sit by the pool all night without a problem. It was a great purchase.

True to its name, my Mosquito Magnet has effectively attracted every biting insect within a 2 mile radius of my home. I now have an awesome army of miniscule predators, which I regularly unleash upon my unsuspecting neighbors. Thanks, Mosquito Magnet!

Amazing Mosquito Control for the Yard

I live in Minnesota where the Mosquito is our 2nd State bird and this machine works wonders. Our yard has bushes and trees and the machine controls the mosquito population great. We also live by a lake and many marshes and wetlands and since buying this machine Spring 2004 we have been virtually mosquito free. It takes a couple of weeks to start to work but once the mosquitos hatch, they swarm to the machine and we have to empty the basket almost every other day! Before the mosquito magnet we would have to go into the house before it even became dusk because of all of the mosquitos! Now we can swim in our pool and have fun in our backyard into the night. I would recommend this to anyone who maintains their schedules around the dreaded mosquito!

We can't think of anything we'd want to add to this little hummer. It's incredible what B&D has engineered into this system (we don't think it's fair to call it a "screwdriver"). The 5-foot tape measure fits on board, or you can remove it for separate use. Dual speed range lets you drill holes at high speed and drive screws at the slower speed. A 23-position clutch, just like what's on the big boys, will keep you from stripping your screws. But get this: Unlike conventional cordless screwdrivers and regular power drills, this tool's handle easily locks in three positions for tight areas and awkward spots. Genius! And just like the "real" drills, this one's got an accessible forward/reverse rocker switch for backing screws out, too. It was DOA. The power switch knob was broken. It could not have happened during the shipment because the packet was sealed. Bottom line: inferior quality.

great for the little jobs

For all normal intents and purposes, this is a wonderful power screw driver. Maybe not for heavy duty construction use, but I'm very happy using it for light duty work around the home. The power is decent, and the ease of use can't be beat.

My 'old' Black & Decker Accumatic Power Driver conked out after 6 years of good service - no chance to replace the battery.
Looking for something fancier I saw the PD600 at Amazon's, and bought it immediately.
Great performance, lots of 'oomph' (power), very good torque control, and I love the zwo speeds offered.

... and I see the envy in all the neighbor's eyes, asking me: "...and where did you get THAT?" "At Amazon.com, of course!"

A very solid little creature for starting out with.

This little violin is well priced and reasonably well made for anyone wanting to start out playing, it has all the right bits in the right places and is even available in funky colours if thats what students want just make heads turn and the learning continue (believe me, if a funky colour get's a childs peers giving postive feedback and showing interest then children will be keener to keep up the musical habit! A habit which is so often a trendy whim!)
It's not a strad, but then what beginner needs a master players instrument? That would be like giving a baby a kettle drum instead of a rattle no?

Excellent Beginner's Violin, GREAT Service from this store

I bought this violin for my nephew as a beginner's violin and was quite pleased with the value for the price, and it was an affordable way for him to have his own instrument and not have to rent or use a second-hand one. My sister did not realize that it takes a while to "break in" a new violin, meaning strings sometimes break, you have to be careful tuning, etc. and when she thought the violin was "no good" I thought it was a case of having to break it in but also contacted the store to see what the return policy would be. They were so GREAT that myself as a musician would buy from them for me personally again, I have played many string instruments for over 30 years and was quite impressed with the response (return no problem). Overall the service was superb they shipped super fast, kept me informed via email and followed up on the initial "problem report" which turned out just fine as the violin "broke in" and is turning out quite nicely for my nephew. I have not encountered this kind of caring service from the big Sam Ash and other music stores I usually give my business to in New York, and the care and concern from the vendor made a big impression on me. I recommend buying an electric tuner and additional strings during the break-in period, being gentle with the instrument, and asking any questions to the vendor, they are knowledgeable and very helpful and the kind of place that musicians beginner to advanced should shop at.

Excellent Beginner's Instrument!

I purchased this violin about a month ago. As a beginning violin student, the previous violin I was playing on was a veritable piece of cardboard with four strings. I wasn't advanced enough for a very fancy violin, and I was tired of renting, so I went online to find a decent violin on a budget. I came across many violins on Amazon, but this one was within my price range and it looked good and came with accessories, like a case, strap, and rosin. I received it about 5 days after I ordered it. The violin looked really good. But it did not come with a bridge attached. I had to put the bridge on myself, which was not all that hard to do. I thought that I would ask my violin teacher to do it, but I managed to do it myself. I started to tune the violin and it seemed okay at first, but the next day when I went to play, the strings were all out of tune again. I had to retune it all over again. I started to get annoyed after doing this a few days in a row. I thought that I had ended up paying for a violin that didn't work. But when I took it to my violin teacher, she said that it was natural for a violin to not hold its tune at first. She said that the strings needed time to settle in. She gave me some peg drops to keep the pegs from slipping. I rubbed a little on the pegs and it seemed to work. She also told me to be careful when I tuned the violin because if I tightened the strings too tight, they could break. After I put the peg drops, I didn't need to tune the violin as often. And now the pegs do not slip at all and the strings just need minor day to day tuning. As for the sound, I can't complain because it is after all an instrument. Unfortunately, the violin does not play itself! Whatever sound I create on the violin is exactly what the violin produces. So if it notes coming out of the violin don't sound good...well let's just say that this is why I'm taking lessons!
This instrument does not have the quality of a $4,000 violin, but obviously I shouldn't expect that since I got this violin for a great low price. You get what you pay for, and for the price I paid for it, I think this violin is GREAT!! I think it is the perfect beginner's instrument and the quality of the violin is very good, as is the quality of the bow and the case. Even my teacher thinks it's great. I am VERY HAPPY with the purchase and would definitely buy from this seller again.
